So, the holidays are coming closer so I will be at my dad's alot in the vacation.
What would you guys like?
A RuneScape private server or a Minecraft classic server?
I think that we should get a MC classic server.

Why?

- We can get alot of players in a fast time
- Rankings
- Minigames
- Can be online for 24hrs a day
- ..

Guys, a minecraft server with the latest bukkit is already being set up, once we get the shops up, and the spawn, I will post the ip here for all to see.

Really? You think that League of Legends isn't more played than Call of Duty, Battlefield or MineCraft? Dude have you even tried Googling it? Search most popular game in the world, or most played game in the world, and League of Legends will top all of the charts.

Cod has 100 million players worldwide.

BF3 has maybe 50 million.

LoL only has 15 million. Minecraft has 9 million + 3-10 million people who havnt even bought the game.

League of Legends has over 70 million players per month, Call of Duty has only 100 million in total, not in a month. Call of Duty also gets nowhere near 1.4 billion hours played each month.

I got similar results when I looked into it, but the figures I got are outdated. Still, I don't see it jumping from 15,000,000 to 70,000,000 in a year or so.

Could you give us a source on this? Where are you getting these numbers?

I for one second the MineCraft Server. I mean, why NOT MineCraft? Don't get me wrong, I'd be the first to correct someone who presumed games like Terraria are just a MineCraft clone, but I still feel that you're searching for alternatives to MineCraft. I also think MineCraft has the most diversity of all the games on that list, with several game modes and the huge mod-community behind it. And a lot of people here have already expressed how much they enjoy the game. I say we go for it. But start off small - We don't need to rent a server.

MineCraft is amazing and is the best no doubt about it. But you have to pay to play. I just don't pay for games. LoL = Free, DUST514 = Free, WoT = Free, DCUO = Free etc. And Gozitan, I have no idea where you got your 15 million registered users from, is that only NA server?

If it's going to be a Private Server, I'm going to guess they'll enable pirated-version gameplay. There's a setting for that. Hell, you can find a lot of public servers which allow people with a pirated version of the game to play.

Does it really matter? Popularity doesn't make a good game. At the risk of sounding like a complete hipster; the masses tend to have fairly terrible taste in just about everything.
